[Case Study] High Attendance Tied To High Grades

CourseKey worked with an instructor at San Diego State University and researchers out of the University of Texas at Arlington and the Fair Isaac Corporation to understand how using CourseKey for attendance tracking impacts a student’s final grade.

CourseKey was used for the duration of the Fall 2017 term for attendance tracking and in-class assessments as a required course material per the instructor’s syllabus. Attendance was scheduled ahead of time to start at the same time class started per the schedule and was conducted automatically using CourseKey’s patented location-based technology to prevent false check-ins.

At the end of the semester, CourseKey data was compared to student grades. The outcomes showed that there was a clear correlation over the course of the term between student attendance and final grades.
